The great Disneyland adventure...and also the day after...

So here follows the long anticipated tales of our Disneyland adventure.
We woke up ridiculously early in the style of children on Christmas morning. Took full advantage of everything on offer for breakfast to set us up for the fun filled day ahead and were on our way, after much deliberation of suitable clothing for the day, I decided against the Minnie Mouse dress and ears.

So we had to take the metro and then the RER, it was a double decker just to add to the excitement. When we arrived we discovered we'd not bought the right tickets for the RER as it had gone out of central Paris and were essentially trapped behind the exit gates. It was like torture, we could see Disneyland but we couldn't get to it. This crisis was averted, before tears were shed, when a kind man opened the ticket barrier for the massive crowd of people around us who had clearly done the same thing as us.

Once getting into the Park we had to go and collect our Year passports, so on arrival we were greeted by 'Gavin' who assumed we were French and asked us if he could help, we explained the situation and he took our printed documents off us. He then clearly read my name and outwardly thought "hang on, YOU'RE NOT FRENCH" in the broadest London accent of them all. This excited Olivia, but me, not so much.

I should probably explain at this point that both myself and Olivia are very much afraid of people dressed up, they're so unpredictable you never know what they're going to do. This proves a slight issue at Disneyland.  Another thing I struggled to deal with were fully grown men wearing Disney style ears, there's just something so wrong, but hilarious about this. At one point seeing a Man wearing Pluto ears in a queue for a ride was just too much to handle...

So we very much took advantage of it being so quiet and went on Space Mountain 5 times, definitely got judged by the over smiley jumper wearing Disneyland staff working there, but this may have been because of Olivia's over excited rollercoaster 'wooping' as opposed to our general enthusiasm for the ride.

On the way home we went to purchase some alcohol to make the most of our evening off and had a few pre-drinks before heading to the tower, just because it was such a lovely evening and why the hell not? Fun french fact of the day, our friends across the pond call pre-drinks 'les befores'. They love adopting an English word or two.

So after the excitement of Disneyland and having drunk a bottle of wine, I thought it best not to blog when arriving home.

Yesterday we ventured to 'La defense' which is the business quarter of Paris, the buildings there all look so new in contrast to the traditional Parisian buildings around the centre. We sat on the steps of La grand arche and admired the view before heading back via Auchan to buy more cheese and wine.

We then had a bit of a cheese and wine soirée chez nous, before planning on heading to Tour Montparnasse. But by the time we'd decided to set off, the tower was closed. So we drunk more wine and ate more cheese.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring, probably less wine.

This is how excited we were for the whole day.

The most surreal parade ever.

Stereotypical Disneyland photo #sorrynotsorry

We're beautiful.

Getting a bit arty by the tower. I really like this photo, sorry.

La défense.

La grand arche. 'Big Arch' Sounds more impressive in French.

Just loving life.

La défense

I hate these little buggers.
